emerging… in composure HA!

I spent this past month of August 2015, participating in a challenge on Instagram.

Surfing the pix and posts of other Instagram-ers… I came upon the #30daysofcomposition challenge presented by

Emma Davies Photography:::Photography for Bloggers website:  http://www.PhotographyForBlogs.com (check out her site for an upcoming September course)

I took this as an opportunity to get together a slice of my photography….and what I found was similar to what I found when I recently reorganized my resume…. I have a little something here and now I want to delve deeper into my emergence through composure…literally and metaphorically. Engaging with my photographs through a daily prompt of all the various elements and rules of composition such as leading lines, rule of thirds, framing, triangles, etc, i began to get a bit of a handle on my style and vision. Having more of a feel and appreciation in this regard has added confidence and a better-fitting direction to my Art.

With that, i give thanks to Emma Davies for her initiative with this challenge AND my glorious son for his ever-clear attention to detail and his stellar sense of beauty AND his computer genius.

Also, you can see these same photos and more at my Instagram

And without further ado, i share with you 30 of my photographs.

beaming in all directions

attracting us all

waking even the sleepiest

among us

accommodating each wandering soul

serving up her own brand of solace

a knowing feeds her

she sips it in…delighting in the sweetness

her smile is replicated

we see it everywhere

like dominoes rising to meet me

a counter experience

a constant rising

unique to this woman

a love with no end

i’m in an incubator

anxiously chipping away

at the candy-coated shell

an armor of hard won

beliefs that were and

are all incorrect

those last moments

of holding on to the

stale, disgusting air

that once imprisoned me

spinning in timeless-ness

seemingly never ending

another and another

just rest now…and wait

the work is finished

i lie here in a pile of newness

from the center is the only

real calm

tiny and fragile

yet not contain-able

a sweet breeze

reminds me that i am still here

born to the truth

fierce light of my soul

my heart and my eyes

await the grand plug-in

a number, a volume

screeches from a bird

my attention called away

trailing off to nowhere

the shadows on my shoulder

looks like beads on display

diffused to assist the day

standing here with miles to go

relativity awaits me

crunching and bending

lost track of time

focused on a beam of light
